WHAT IS CUPPOW MADE FROM?
Cuppow is made from a carefully selected food safe plastic that is just the right thickness for both durability and ease of use for hot and cold beverages. It won’t stain or bend and it also boasts great environmentally friendly qualities including:
- BPA Free
- BPS Free (a popular BPA replacement with the similar concerns)
- Phthalate Free
The plastic used is 100% recycled (from post-industrial sources) and is 100% recyclable. Because it’s recycled and recyclable (including the packaging!) every Cuppow is a part of a completely sustainable cycle that diverts waste from landfills.
Is plastic really safe for me and my kids?
Yep! The right plastics in the right places can actually be a beautiful thing.
Plastics that are certified safe for use with food and drink, like that used to make Cuppow, are safe for users of all ages. There is no leaching and no harmful compounds (Cuppow is entirely free of BPA, BPS, and phthalates).
It’s an incredibly versatile and durable material- and when using superior quality plastic like we’ve selected, it’s something that can be used safely for a long time.
We did consider making Cuppow from other types of materials, but our extensive research and testing convinced us that the correct source of plastic would ultimately be safer than a product made with metal or glass, and would last longer than if it were made from silicone. We’re truly committed to making this the safest possible product out there (we have kids too!) and we’re doing our best at every step along the process.

Doesn’t the glass get hot?
Canning jars are made of heat resistant glass - this means that they are safe to be exposed to even boiling temperatures, but they will get hot to the touch. We reccommend using a coozie so we made one from recycled materials that you can check out here: bit.ly/CPWcoozie
What is the Coozie made of?
The Cuppow Coozie is made of Pfelt, a material made from 100% recycled and felted PET (Plastic #1). It’s durable and tear resistant, as well as a fantastic insulator.
Where is the coozie made?
Every component of the Cuppow Coozie - Pfelt, the stitch webbing, and the patch - is Made in the USA. The coozie is constructed and packaged here in Massachusetts.
Is the coozie microwave safe?
Yes - Pfelt has a melting point of 455F (235C), which is more than double water’s boiling temperature. Just don’t reheat your drink too close to the campfire and you should be fine!
How do I clean my coozie?
Normal soap and water will do the trick. Dries quickly!
What size jar does it fit on?
Our first Cuppow Coozie fits most wide mouth 16oz jars. We have plans for more sizes/styles soon! Not sure what size jar you have? Use the button on the top left corner of this page to find out!
Where is the EIO Kids Cup Made?
We’re excited to announce that EIO Kids cup is now 100% made in the USA! The cup, sleeve, and lid are all made in the United States.
What is the EIO Kids Cup made from?
The cap is BPA free made from number “5" Polypropylene plastic. The sleeve is made from silicone. The cup is made from glass.
Is the EIO Kids Cup microwave safe?
No. The Kids Cup is not microwavable. Without the cap it is okay to microwave but we recommend using a low setting.
Is the EIO Kids Cup dishwasher friendly?
Yes, top rack only. After the initial washing, the sleeve can be left on the jar for future dishwashing or hand-washing. We recommend taking it off to clean from time to time. We also recommend allowing the sleeve to dry completely before applying to the cup. EIO's cap is best washed with warm soapy water.
How do I apply the sleeve to the cup?
Only parents, caregivers or adults can put on or take off the sleeve. Place the top of the sleeve, with the rippled edge, at the bottom of the cup. Tap it on using the palm of your hand. When it no longer slides on grab the sleeve and pull it up until the bottom of the sleeve matches the bottom of the jar enough for your jar to slide. Your Kids Cup should slide easily on counter tops.
Can I put warm and cold beverages in the EIO Kids Cup?
Yes, the Kids Cup is glass and has a protective sleeve making it perfect warm or cold drinks. Your Kids Cup is not microwave safe. It is not advised or endorsed by Cuppow to place hot liquids in the hands of children. Test the temperature of all liquids before allowing young children to consume.
Can I put smoothies or juice in the EIO Kids Cup?
YES. The Kids Cup is simple – cup and cap – no small crevices to hide leftover OJ pulp or bits of that strawberry smoothie.
Why a silicone sleeve?
The silicone sleeve’s easy-grip surface is perfect for little hands and its1.5 mm thickness helps protect the 8 oz. glass jar from breaking. Only adults should take off or put on the silicone sleeve. Silicone is an inert material and does not react with food or beverages, or produce any hazardous fumes. Most importantly, it is non-toxic, hypo allergenic and best of all – it does not promote bacteria or fungus growth.
