Our Aerobie Aeropress has been getting some extra use lately. It comes camping on the weekends because it’s basically indestructible and very easy to clean. It’s also great for hot and humid New England summer days delivering a small double shot of espresso to quickly jumpstart mornings in place of a big steaming cup of pour over.
This device has such an amazing history in the short ten years it has been around. And the inventor, Alan Adler, seems like a very creative and funny person. He’s been well documented across the web - here are some of our favorite highlights along with some uniquely-Alan quotes from each piece:

The Invention of the Perfect Cup of Coffee, Medium
“Lately I’ve been thinking about exercise equipment. I’m thinking of devices that would be so much fun to use that people would enjoy using them.”

The Invention of the Aeropress, Pricenomics
“A lot of companies feel the need to release new products; they’ll release products that never really deserved to be sold! They’re just not that good. We don’t look at it that way: we only release products that we think are innovative and offer excellent play value.”

The Aeropress Inventor’s Secret to a Perfect Cup of Coffee, Fast Comopany
“…some people put great emphasis on buying a scale to measure out the exact amount of coffee. But to me, if I were going to write an article like that, my emphasis would be to spend $7 and buy a thermometer. Knowing that your water temperature is 175 is a really rewarding thing.”
See what we mean? Seems like our kind of guy. Keep doing what you do Mr. Adler - good design will save the planet!
PS: Did you know Aeropress filters are supposed to be used 20+ times each?
