B Corporations are a new kind of company which uses the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
We became a B Corporation so that we could formally evaluate our efforts to make a company that aims to offer more than just a collection of products. We started looking into, and learning more about, Certified B Corporations during a meeting while discussing what ‘Made in the USA’ means to us. Some companies believe that ‘up to 70% made in the USA’ qualifies as the same thing. To us, that’s just crazy.
But how could we valuate the sustainable supply chain options that we’ve labored over when some companies think that lessthan ¾ of that effort is pretty much basically the same thing?
Enter the B Lab.
B Lab certifies and supports B Corporations. The performance standards are comprehensive and transparent. They measure a company’s impact on all its stakeholders (E.g., workers, suppliers, community, and the environment).
We are proud to evaluate and showcase the way our business impacts our planet and everything on it. We want to help build a future where customers demand products and services are developed in environmentally conscious ways.
There are over 1,000 Certified B Corporations from more than 60 industries in 34 countries with 1 unifying goal – to redefine success in business.
We hope to work with other Certified B Corporations to inspire other businesses to compete, not to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world.
